Grant and Scholarship Opportunities


The Nebraska Academy of Sciences administers scholarships totaling $3400 each year.  There are six high school scholarships and two collegiate scholarships available.

High school scholarship application deadline is March 1st. The collegiate deadline is February 1st.

NAS Foundation Grants

Private Foundation grant deadlines are May 1 and November 1. Grants are available up to $2000 and the project must be completed in one year from the date of the award.  If you have questions please contact the office at 402-472-2644.

The Nebraska Academy of Sciences (NAS) will consider funding requests from Nebraskans that fall within its stated objectives (see About Us) and give priority to funding requests from Nebraskans for research in the basic sciences, travel to educational and scientific conferences, and formal and informal K-20 science education.

Private Foundation GrantsApplication information can be downloaded here. Private Foundation final reports are due 30 days from the end of the grant period.

Public Information and Education (PIE) Mini-Grant

The PIE Grants support the presentation and dissemination of information and perspectives that will stimulate enhanced environmental stewardship in any category eligible for Trust funding. The grant program seeks to expand dialogue on important conservation topics and to provide information on emerging or highly useful conservation methods.
